Class of 2020 Mixes it up!

Welcome to YMSL Argyle Chapter!

YMSL National

Young Men’s Service League is a non-profit organization that initiates and encourages young men and their mothers to pursue philanthropic involvement in their community and provides an opportunity to enhance mother/son relationships.

Young Men’s Service League, Inc. has a National Board of Directors which governs and promotes the expansion of YMSL chapters throughout the United States to allow young men and their mothers to assist, serve, and support those who are in need in their communities. Nationally, over 1 Million hours of service have been performed since YMSL's founding in 2001.

YMSL History

Young Men’s Service League was founded by Pam and Julie Rosener, who envisioned an organization that would allow mothers and their high school aged sons to work together in support of those in need within the community. They recruited other interested mothers who shared their vision and turned that dream into the reality that is now YMSL.

The initial YMSL chapter is in Plano, Texas, where Pam and Julie worked with other empowered mothers and sons to create a highly successful philanthropic and developmental organization.

YMSL Argyle

YMSL Argyle was launched in 2015 serving primarily in Denton and Argyle, TX. In our inaugural year, our founding group of like-minded moms brought together incoming freshman and sophomore classes to make a positive impact, while grooming our sons to be respectful, grateful, and giving citizens. We now have a full chapter of boys in grades 9 through 12, and we continue to serve a wide variety of philanthropies throughout the Denton County community.

YMSL is a four year commitment, beginning with young men enrolling at the end of 8th grade. It focuses on providing teenage boys with the opportunity to volunteer in their community alongside their mothers, improve their leadership skills, and develop new life skills. In addition to philanthropy work, mothers and sons individually attend meetings that incorporate engaging speakers, activities, and topics used to expand their knowledge and experience in a variety of topics including practical life skills, social skills, civic responsibility, and philanthropy. Additionally, each mother and son contribute to the success of the organization by holding a leadership position in the chapter. We look forward to continued growth and service, while forming lasting memories with our sons.

The Three Pillars of YMSL: Philanthropy, Education and Leadership

Philanthropy

 - Each member of YMSL is required to serve at least 20 hours of community service in support of approved philanthropies in their area.

Education

 - Each young man attends five out of seven meetings a year with their grade level. Meetings are used to expand their knowledge and experience in a variety of topics including practical life skills, social skills, civic responsibility and life choices.

Leadership

- There are six core leadership values emphasized: responsibility, courage, perseverance, citizenship, honesty, and respect. Each young man holds a unique position in the organization during their four years.
